Coin Master Features Guide

Everything you need to know about villages, the slot machine, card collections, pets, raids, attacks, events, and social features in Coin Master.

Villages

Build, upgrade, and progress through hundreds of themed villages

The village system is the backbone of Coin Master progression. Each village consists of five buildings that you must fully upgrade before advancing to the next one. Every building has five upgrade levels, so completing a single village requires 25 total upgrades. The cost of upgrades increases significantly as you progress — early villages might cost a few hundred thousand coins to finish, while later villages can require billions.

Village themes range from simple farmlands and Viking settlements in early levels to exotic locations like Egyptian pyramids, Japanese temples, and fantasy realms in later stages. Each time you complete all five buildings in a village, you receive a reward of spins and coins, and you unlock the next village. There are currently over 400 villages in the game, and Moon Active adds new ones regularly through updates.

A common strategy is to wait for the "Village Master" event before completing a village, as it grants extra rewards for each star earned while building. Some players also save up coins during Coin Master events and complete multiple village upgrades in a single session to maximize event points. Keep in mind that once you move to a new village, you cannot go back to upgrade previous ones, so make sure you're fully finished before moving on.

Buildings can be destroyed by attacks from other players, which sets them back one star level. Having an active shield protects your village from a single attack. The Rhino pet also provides a chance to block incoming attacks even when you have no shields active, making pet management an important part of protecting your village investment.

The Slot Machine

The core mechanic that drives everything in Coin Master

The slot machine is the central gameplay mechanic in Coin Master. Every spin costs coins (the amount depends on your current bet multiplier), and the machine has four reels showing different symbols. The possible outcomes are: coins (a bag of gold), raid (a pig bandit), attack (a hammer), and shield (a shield icon). Landing three or four matching symbols triggers that action, while mixed results usually give a smaller coin reward.

Getting three coin bags awards you a coin prize based on your bet level. Four coin bags triggers a mega win worth significantly more. Landing three raid symbols lets you dig up another player's buried treasure — you pick three spots from a set of holes and collect whatever coins are hidden there. Four raid symbols means a massive raid with much higher potential loot. The Foxy pet boosts raid earnings when active.

Three attack symbols let you attack another player's village, damaging one of their buildings and earning coins in the process. Four attack symbols deal extra damage. With the Tiger pet active, your attack coin rewards are multiplied. Shield symbols protect your village — landing one or more shields adds to your shield count (maximum of three active at once). Each shield blocks one incoming attack before being consumed.

You can adjust your bet multiplier from x1 up to x200 (or higher at advanced levels). Higher bets cost more spins per play but multiply all rewards proportionally. Experienced players typically bet low during normal play and save high bets for events where the extra points and rewards justify the spin cost. The energy capsule symbol can also appear, giving your active pet extra food to extend its duration.

Card Collections

Collect, trade, and complete card sets for massive rewards

Card collecting is one of the most rewarding aspects of Coin Master. Cards are organized into themed collections (sets) of nine cards each. You obtain cards primarily by opening chests, which you can purchase with coins from the in-game shop. There are different chest tiers — wooden, golden, and magical — and higher-tier chests have a better chance of dropping rare cards. The chest contents also depend on your current village level, so some cards are only available after reaching certain villages.

Each card collection has a theme, like "Creatures of the Deep" or "Warrior Legends." When you complete an entire nine-card set, you receive a reward of spins and a permanent XP bonus. Completing all sets within a season before it ends earns a massive bonus reward. Cards have different rarity levels — common cards drop frequently, while rare and very rare cards can take hundreds of chests to find.

You can collect duplicate cards, which are useful for trading with friends. The trading system lets you send and receive up to five cards per day with each Facebook friend who also plays. However, certain high-rarity cards are marked as "untradeable" during their first season, meaning you must find them yourself through chests or special events. After the season ends, some of these cards become tradeable.

Completing card sets is one of the fastest ways to accumulate spins in the game. A single completed set can reward thousands of spins, and during "Set Blast" events, the rewards are doubled. Smart players coordinate with trading groups to complete sets efficiently, focusing on the collections where they're closest to finishing.

Gold Cards & Joker Cards

Special card types with unique properties and bonus rewards

Gold cards are premium versions of regular cards that have a shiny gold border. They drop from chests at a much lower rate than their normal counterparts and provide bonus rewards when you complete a full gold set. Having all nine gold cards in a collection grants you extra spins on top of the normal set completion reward. Gold cards are highly coveted because they significantly boost your overall rewards from card collecting.

You can obtain gold cards by opening chests (higher-tier chests have better odds), through special events like Gold Card Trade events, or occasionally as rewards from completing certain challenges. Gold cards cannot be traded under normal circumstances, which makes them harder to collect. During limited-time Gold Card Trading events, players can trade gold cards with friends, but these events are rare and highly anticipated by the community.

Joker cards are wild cards that can substitute for any missing card in a collection. When you receive a joker card (usually from events or special promotions), you can assign it to any empty slot in any set. This makes jokers incredibly valuable — the best strategy is to save them for the rarest cards in a set rather than using them on cards you could easily trade for. Some players save jokers for months, waiting for the perfect moment to complete a high-reward set.

There are also special gold joker cards that function like regular jokers but fill a gold card slot instead. These are even rarer and more valuable. The general advice from experienced players is to never rush using a joker card — identify which card in which set is truly the hardest to obtain and use your joker there for maximum value.

Pet System

Foxy, Tiger, and Rhino — your loyal companions with powerful abilities

Foxy is the first pet you unlock and specializes in raids. When Foxy is active during a raid, she digs an additional hole for you, giving you four digs instead of three. This significantly increases the amount of coins you can steal from other players. Foxy is unlocked by completing the "Creatures" card set and is generally considered the most valuable pet for coin farming, especially when combined with high bet multipliers during raid-heavy event periods.

Tiger boosts your attack rewards. When Tiger is active and you land an attack on the slot machine, the coins you earn from damaging another player's building are multiplied. The bonus increases as you level Tiger up through XP. Tiger is unlocked by completing the "Beasts" card set and pairs well with high-bet attack strategies. During Attack Madness events, having Tiger active can dramatically increase your coin earnings per attack.

Rhino is the defensive pet that blocks incoming attacks. When Rhino is active and another player attacks your village, there's a chance Rhino will block the attack entirely, saving your building from damage even if you have no shields. Rhino is unlocked by completing the "Mythical Creatures" card set and is especially useful when you're sitting on an expensive village that would be costly to repair.

All three pets require food to stay active. Pets have a four-hour active window after being fed, and you can obtain pet food through the slot machine (energy capsule symbols), events, and daily rewards. Pets level up by gaining XP, which increases their bonus percentages. You can switch between pets at any time, but only one pet can be active at once. Smart players activate Foxy before doing raids, Tiger before attacks, and Rhino when they're about to log off to protect their village while away.

Raids & Attacks

Two ways to earn coins from other players — each with different strategies

Raids trigger when you land three or four pig bandit symbols on the slot machine. You're taken to another player's village where you see several digging spots. You get to pick three spots (four with Foxy active) and each hole reveals a pile of coins. The amount you dig up is based on how many coins the target player currently has — raiding someone with a huge coin stash can yield millions or even billions of coins. This is why many players recommend spending coins quickly on upgrades rather than hoarding them.

Attacks happen when you land three or four hammer symbols. You choose (or are assigned) another player's village and your Viking character smashes one of their buildings, reducing its star level by one. You earn coins for each attack, and the amount scales with your bet multiplier and the Tiger pet bonus. Unlike raids, attacks directly affect the target's village progress, making them feel more impactful for both players. If the target has an active shield, the shield absorbs the attack instead.

The key strategic difference is that raids are primarily about coin generation while attacks are about disruption and earning attack event points. During Raid Madness events, raids give extra event points, so players will spin aggressively hoping for raid symbols. Similarly, Attack Madness events reward attacking. Some players strategically use the revenge mechanic — if someone attacks you, you can choose to attack them back by tapping the revenge option.

For maximum raid value, always activate Foxy before spinning when you expect raids. For attacks, switch to Tiger. If you're about to log off for the night and you have a lot of coins, spend them on village upgrades first — otherwise, you're a juicy raid target. Experienced players also note that the matchmaking system tends to pair you with players at similar village levels, so progressing too quickly without building up resources can put you at a disadvantage.

Events

Maximize your rewards by playing smart during limited-time events

Viking Quest is one of the most popular recurring events. You spin a separate mini slot machine that rewards you with progress along a map. Reaching checkpoints grants spins, coins, pet food, and chests. The final reward is typically a massive spin package. The trick to Viking Quest is to play with higher bet multipliers — each spin on the main slot machine contributes points to Viking Quest proportional to your bet level, so betting x5 or x10 gives you much faster event progress.

Attack Madness and Raid Madness are events that reward you for performing attacks and raids respectively. Each attack or raid earns event points, and reaching point thresholds unlocks increasingly valuable rewards. During these events, it makes sense to focus your spins on getting the relevant symbols. Players typically save up spins beforehand and spend them all during these events to hit the highest reward tiers.

Village Master rewards you for upgrading buildings in your current village. Each star you add to a building earns event points. The optimal strategy is to have a fresh village ready when Village Master starts, then upgrade all five buildings to five stars during the event. Some players deliberately avoid completing their village and wait for this event to maximize rewards. The points scale with your village level, so higher villages yield better rewards.

Set Blast doubles the rewards for completing card collections during the event period. This is when you want to use your saved joker cards and complete any sets you're close to finishing. Coordinating card trades with friends during Set Blast is one of the highest-value activities in the game. Other events include Balloon Frenzy, Treasure Rush, and seasonal holiday events, each with unique mechanics and reward structures that keep the gameplay fresh.

Friends & Social Features

Connect with friends to trade cards, send gifts, and earn bonus spins

Connecting your Coin Master account to Facebook is one of the most beneficial things you can do in the game. Facebook-linked accounts can add friends, trade cards, send and receive free spins, and attack or raid people on their friends list. When you first connect to Facebook, you receive a generous bonus of free spins as a reward. You can also invite new players through Facebook, earning bonus spins for each friend who installs and opens the game.

Card trading is the primary social feature and requires a Facebook connection. You can send up to five cards per friend per day, and receive up to five in return. Cards must be duplicates — you cannot trade your last copy of any card. To trade effectively, many players join dedicated Facebook groups or Discord servers where thousands of players post their "need/have" lists. These communities make it dramatically easier to complete card collections compared to playing solo.

Daily gifting allows you to send one free spin to each of your Facebook friends who play Coin Master, and they can send one back to you. With a large friends list, this can add up to significant daily spins for free. The game also features a friends leaderboard that shows how many villages each of your friends has completed, adding a competitive social element. You can visit friends' villages to see their progress and occasionally find bonus items.

The social aspect extends to attacks and raids as well — your spin results may target your Facebook friends, adding a fun rivalry dynamic. Some groups establish "no attack" agreements, though the game's random targeting makes this hard to enforce. Overall, the social features are deeply integrated into Coin Master's design, and players who engage with the community through trading groups and friend networks progress significantly faster than solo players.
