How to Play Coin Master

Just downloaded Coin Master? This guide walks you through everything from your first spin to building your village empire. No experience needed — we'll cover it all.

01

What is Coin Master?

A quick overview of the game

Coin Master is a casual mobile game developed by Moon Active, available for free on both iOS and Android. It combines a simple slot machine mechanic with village building, card collecting, and social features. The game has been downloaded over 200 million times worldwide and has a huge active community.

The core gameplay loop is simple: you spin a slot machine to earn coins, then use those coins to build and upgrade your village. The slot machine can also land on raids (steal coins from other players), attacks (damage other players' buildings), or shields (protect your own village). Between spins, you collect cards, level up pets, and participate in events for bonus rewards.

What makes Coin Master addictive is its social element — you play against your Facebook friends and millions of other players worldwide. You can raid their villages, attack their buildings, trade cards, and compete on leaderboards. It's the kind of game you can play in short bursts throughout the day, and the daily free spin links keep you coming back.

Getting Started

Download, set up, and make the most of your account

Here's how to get up and running with Coin Master:

  1. Download the game from the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android). It's completely free to download and play.
  2. Open the game and you'll be dropped right into a quick tutorial. The tutorial walks you through your first few spins and shows you how to upgrade a building. Pay attention — it covers the basics well.
  3. Connect to Facebook as soon as possible. This is optional but highly recommended. Connecting gives you a large bonus of free spins, lets you add friends for card trading, enables daily free spin gifting, and saves your progress across devices. Without Facebook, you can't trade cards at all.
  4. Claim your starter spins and start spinning. The game gives you a generous starting package of spins and coins. Use them to get a feel for the slot machine before worrying about strategy.
  5. Bookmark free spin sites like this one. Daily reward links are posted by Coin Master's official social media accounts and aggregated by fan sites. Claiming these links is the easiest way to keep your spin count high.

Understanding the Slot Machine

The four symbols and what each one does

The slot machine has four reels and four possible symbols. Here's what each one means:

💰 Coin Bag

Landing 3 or 4 coin bags gives you a coin reward. Four bags = a mega coin win. This is how you earn the bulk of your building budget.

🐷 Pig Bandit (Raid)

Three pig bandits trigger a raid — you dig up coins buried in another player's village. Four pigs = a massive raid with bigger treasure.

🔨 Hammer (Attack)

Three hammers let you attack another player's village, damaging one building and earning coins. Four hammers deal extra damage.

🛡️ Shield

Shields protect your village from attacks. You can hold up to 3 shields at a time. Each shield blocks one incoming attack.

Each spin costs coins based on your bet multiplier. The default is x1, but you can increase it up to x200 or more. Higher bets cost more per spin but multiply all rewards. As a beginner, stick with low bets (x1 to x3) until you have a comfortable spin reserve.

04

Building Your Village

How to upgrade buildings and progress to new villages

Each village has five buildings, and each building has five upgrade levels (shown as stars). Here's how village progression works:

  1. Tap a building to see its upgrade cost. If you have enough coins, tap the upgrade button to add a star.
  2. Upgrade all five buildings to five stars each (25 total upgrades per village).
  3. Complete the village — once all buildings are maxed, you'll automatically move to the next village and receive a reward of spins and coins.
  4. Costs increase with each village. Village 1 might cost a few hundred thousand coins total, while village 50 costs hundreds of millions. By village 200+, you're looking at billions per village.

When another player attacks you, one of your buildings loses a star. If you have a shield active, the shield absorbs the attack instead. Buildings that are fully upgraded (5 stars) and then attacked drop back to 4 stars, which means you'll need to spend coins to repair them.

Pro Tip

Don't rush through villages. Spend your coins on upgrades as soon as you earn them — sitting on a huge pile of coins makes you a prime raid target. Other players can steal a percentage of your coin stash when they raid you.

Raids & Attacks Explained

How to steal coins and damage other villages

How Raids Work:

  1. Land 3 or 4 pig bandit symbols on the slot machine.
  2. You're taken to another player's village — you'll see the ground with digging spots.
  3. Tap to dig in 3 spots (4 if Foxy pet is active). Each dig reveals coins.
  4. The coins you steal come from the target player's coin balance. Players with bigger coin stashes yield bigger raids.
  5. You can choose to raid a random player or a specific Facebook friend by tapping the target icon.

How Attacks Work:

  1. Land 3 or 4 hammer symbols on the slot machine.
  2. You're shown a target player's village with their buildings.
  3. Your Viking character automatically attacks one building, reducing it by one star.
  4. You earn coins as a reward for the attack. The Tiger pet increases this reward.
  5. If the target has a shield active, the shield is consumed instead of the building taking damage.

Revenge

When someone attacks or raids you, you'll see a notification. You can tap the revenge button to target that specific player on your next attack or raid. This adds a fun back-and-forth dynamic with friends.

06

Collecting Cards

How card collections work and why they matter

Cards are collected by opening chests, which you buy from the in-game shop using coins. There are three chest tiers:

  • Wooden Chest — cheapest, mostly common cards. Good for filling early collections.
  • Golden Chest — mid-tier, better chance at rare cards. Best value for most players.
  • Magical Chest — most expensive but highest chance of very rare cards.

Cards are grouped into themed sets of 9 cards each. Completing a full set rewards you with a big batch of spins and a permanent XP bonus. The card sets rotate by season — new ones are added and old ones may become permanent.

Trading cards requires a Facebook connection. You can send up to 5 cards per day to each friend. Join Coin Master trading groups on Facebook or Discord — these communities have thousands of players posting what they need and what they have. Trading is by far the fastest way to complete collections.

Important

The cards available from chests depend on your village level. Some rare cards only appear after you reach certain villages. Don't worry about not finding every card early on — the pool expands as you progress.

Pet System Basics

Three pets, three abilities — here's what you need to know

Coin Master has three pets, each with a unique ability that helps in different situations:

Foxy (Raid Bonus)

Gives you an extra dig during raids — 4 digs instead of 3. This means roughly 33% more coins from every raid. Unlocked by completing the Creatures card set. Activate Foxy before you spin if you're expecting raids.

Tiger (Attack Bonus)

Multiplies the coins you earn from attacks. The bonus percentage increases as Tiger levels up. Unlocked by completing the Beasts card set. Switch to Tiger when Attack Madness events are running.

Rhino (Defense)

Has a chance to block incoming attacks, even when you have no shields. Great for protecting expensive villages overnight. Unlocked by completing the Mythical Creatures card set.

Feeding pets: Pets need food to stay active. Once fed, a pet is active for 4 hours. You get pet food from energy capsule symbols on the slot machine, event rewards, and daily bonuses. Pets gain XP while active and level up over time, which increases their bonus percentages. Only one pet can be active at a time, so swap them based on what you're doing.

Getting Free Spins

Every way to earn free spins without spending money

Spins are the lifeblood of Coin Master. Here are all the ways to get them for free:

  1. Daily free spin links — Coin Master posts reward links on their official Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages daily. Sites like ours collect these links so you can grab them all in one place. Each link typically gives 25 to 60 spins.
  2. Hourly free spins — The game gives you 5 free spins every hour, up to a maximum of 50 stored spins. This means even if you don't play, you accumulate spins passively up to the cap.
  3. Facebook friend gifts — Each Facebook friend can send you 1 free spin per day. With 100 friends playing, that's 100 free spins daily. Add as many Coin Master players as possible.
  4. Completing card sets — Finishing a card collection rewards a large batch of spins, sometimes thousands. This is one of the biggest free spin sources in the game.
  5. Events — Almost every event rewards spins at various milestones. Viking Quest, Attack Madness, Raid Madness, and seasonal events all hand out spins generously.
  6. Inviting friends — When a friend installs Coin Master through your invite link and opens the game, you receive bonus spins as a referral reward.
  7. Watching video ads — The game offers optional video ads that reward a small number of spins. Tap the spin energy icon to see if ads are available. You can usually watch several per day.
  8. Email rewards — If you sign up for Coin Master emails, Moon Active occasionally sends out exclusive reward links to subscribers.

Spin Stacking Tip

Free spin links expire after a few days, so claim them daily. However, some players "stack" spins by claiming links but not spending them, building up a reserve for big events. The hourly free spins stop accumulating once you hit 50 stored, so spend down to under 50 regularly to keep the passive spins flowing.

Tips for New Players

Mistakes to avoid and habits that will help you progress faster

1

Save spins for events

Don't blow all your spins randomly. Wait for events like Viking Quest or Raid Madness to get double value from every spin. Stockpile at least 500-1000 spins before a major event.

2

Bet low in early villages

Keep your bet multiplier at x1 or x2 for the first 30-50 villages. Higher bets drain spins fast, and early village upgrades are cheap enough that low bets are sufficient.

3

Spend coins immediately

Don't hoard coins. Upgrade your buildings as soon as you can afford to. Sitting on a huge coin balance makes you a jackpot raid target — other players will steal millions from you.

4

Join trading groups early

Search Facebook for "Coin Master Trading" groups. Having access to trades makes completing card sets vastly easier. Some groups have millions of members and very active trading.

5

Don't waste raids on empty players

If the game pairs you with a player who has very few coins, you can tap the arrows to switch to a different target before digging. Look for targets with larger coin balances for bigger raid payouts.

6

Feed your pets strategically

Don't waste pet food randomly. Feed Foxy before a raid session, Tiger before an attack event, and Rhino before logging off. Pet food is limited, so make every feeding count.

7

Claim daily links every day

Free spin links expire quickly. Make it a daily habit to visit a rewards site and claim all available links. Even 25 spins per link adds up to hundreds of free spins per week.

Progression Guide

Village 1 to village 100+ — what to expect at each stage

Villages 1–10: The Tutorial Phase

Everything is cheap and fast. You'll breeze through these villages in your first day or two. Use this time to learn the mechanics, connect to Facebook, and start building your friends list. Bet x1 and don't worry about strategy yet. Open wooden chests to start your card collection.

Villages 11–30: Finding Your Rhythm

Upgrade costs start to climb. You'll notice you can't always complete a village in one sitting anymore. Start paying attention to events and timing your spins. Join a trading group and begin actively trading cards. You should have Foxy unlocked by now — always activate her before raids.

Villages 31–60: The Grind Begins

This is where Coin Master shifts from casual to strategic. Village costs jump significantly. You'll want to start saving spins for events and increasing your bet to x3–x5 during favorable events. Focus on completing card sets for big spin rewards. Unlock Tiger and Rhino if you haven't already.

Villages 61–100: Mid-Game Strategy

Each village now costs hundreds of millions of coins. Betting strategy matters a lot — many players bet x5–x10 during events and x1 when just grinding. Village Master events become crucial for efficient village completion. Card collection rewards are your biggest source of spins. Gold cards start to matter more.

Villages 100+: The Long Game

Villages cost billions of coins. You're now a veteran player, and the game becomes about patience and event optimization. High-level players bet x50 or more during major events and stockpile thousands of spins between events. Card trading networks and community involvement become essential. New card seasons and events keep the gameplay fresh even at high village levels.

Key Milestones

Village 4: Unlock chests and card collections. Village 10: Events become available. Village 20: Unlock pets. Village 50: You're officially past the beginner phase. Village 100: You've made it to mid-game — celebrate with a big event session.
