Coin Master Chests Guide 2026
Breakdown of Wooden, Golden, Magical, and Mystery chests, their costs, and exactly which ones you should be buying.
The Importance of Chests
Chests are your only path to completing card sets. You can earn them from Raids, finishing villages, or buying them directly from the shop using Coins. A key mechanic to understand is that the cost of chests increases as your village level goes up!
Chest Types & Probabilities
| Chest (Entity) | Contains (Attribute) | Special Drop (Attribute) |
|---|---|---|
| Wooden Chest | 2 Cards | 1-star and 2-star cards |
| Golden Chest | 4 Cards | 3-star and 4-star cards |
| Magical Chest | 8 Cards | 5-star cards and Gold Cards |
| Mystery Chest | 6 Cards + Rewards | Joker Card (1-10% chance) |
1. Wooden Chest
- Contents: 2 Cards
- Strategy: Mostly contains 1-star and 2-star cards. They are generally not worth buying with coins unless you are missing a very basic 1-star card from an early set.
2. Golden Chest
- Contents: 4 Cards
- Strategy: A massive step up. Contains high probabilities for 3-star and 4-star cards. You should be buying these frequently when buying chests in boom villages.
3. Magical Chest
- Contents: 8 Cards
- Strategy: This is the premier chest for the late game. It is expensive, but it offers the highest probability of dropping 5-star cards and Gold Cards. They are also excellent chests that drop pet snacks and XP potions.
4. Mystery Chest
- Contents: 6 Cards + Special Rewards
- Strategy: The Mystery chest is unique. It drops a mix of cards, Pet Food, and Spins. Most importantly, it has a 1 in 10 chance of dropping the Joker Card! You cannot buy this chest with coins; it is won in tournaments or bought with real money during sales.
When Should You Buy Chests?
The most common mistake new players make is buying chests constantly. You should only buy massive amounts of chests under two conditions:
- You are currently residing in a verified Boom Village.
- A "Card Boom" event is active, meaning you get 50% more cards for the same coin price.
